2nd Quarterly Dinner

“Some exotic species in the kingdom of variable pay instruments” was the theme of ECN’s second quarterly dinner held in Zurich (CH) on March 6th.  Twenty participants from as far as Denmark and Spain gathered at the “Haus zum Rueden” for a very inspiring presentation by Olaf Flippo, Head of Compensation for Novartis and ECN Advisory Board member.

Over the course of the 3 course dinner, Olaf Flippo’s presentation provided the basis for some in-depth discussion on the usefulness and application of “exotic” variable pay instruments.  Consensus was quickly found on the application of these, often more complicated, compensation structures: They are great fun if you like numbers but for the sake of our employees, let’s keep it simple.

1st Quarterly Dinner

ECN holds first quarterly dinner

ECN held its first quarterly dinner in the Grand hotel in Amsterdam on November 22nd. The informal meeting was opened with a short presentation by Sandy Pepper (PriceWaterhouseCoopers), who provided a brief summary of PWCs 2007 Global Equity Plan Survey.

Over a delightful 3 course dinner, participants had the chance to discuss some of the key findings and also network amongst each other.  Participants from  the UK, Switzerland and  the Netherlands gave the  first quarterly dinner an international fee.

The 2nd quarterly dinner will be held March 2008 in Zurich.
